Don't read this, it's secret

I had to get up at half five last Saturday. Not that you care. I don't blame you, waking up early isn't even slightly interesting. The reason, on the other hand, is...

I, along with three other Explorer Scouts from Llangollen Dragons and seven from Mold were going to spend a day in a quarry in Llanberris with a Channel Four film crew making a documentary.

Unfortunately I can't tell you the name of the documentary, or what it's about, or even the name of the person I was representing, because I signed a piece of paper which, as well as giving C4 ownership of my soul, forbade me from giving too much away.

So I can't tell you about the expert in arctic exploration who spent the morning instructing us, or the reason we spent hours making piles of rocks. I probably can't mention how cramped a tent feels with three of you and a camera in it, along with the reason it collapsed on our heads. And I definitely can't explain why the good people of Llanberis had their Saturday morning ruined by the sound of gunshots echoing around the valley. Sorry.

What I can tell you is that the catering was amazing. The common or garden burger van situated on site surprised everyone by serving tender chicken in a sauce with a French name, alongside vegetables that actually tasted nice. If ever you get a chance to be an extra, you should definitely take, just for the free food.
The documentary is being produced by Pioneer Productions for Channel Four and will be shown later this year or early next year.
