1st Bwlchgwyn Scouts have visited the newly refurbished Wrexham County Borough Museum to have a look around and to inspect a display case that they'd had a hand in creating.

The Scouts had been working on the project for several weeks leading up to the reopening of the museum which has undergone a 2 million refurbishment. They'd looked at the local history of their village including the Scout Group, the school and general village life.

Scout Ffion Jackson aged 12 said: ''We've picked some ornaments, and someone's brought in some kayak star awards as some of the Scouts do a lot of kayaking when we get chance. There's also an old Akela's hat, a Forest Camp t-shirt and a teddy bear.''

The Scouts' display case takes pride of place on the way into the museum from the new glass extension. As well as the Scouting items, the display includes one of the Scouts' school jumper, and an abacus.
