September Exec
Outstanding Actions from previous meetings
The following activities were reviewed and followed up on:
HQ roof repairs - quotes being got and work to be done
District Directory - to be circulated shortly
Asbestos surveys - mainly completed, written reports to be obtained and filed

District Development update
Mark Winson is working with 1st Hope to recruit more Leaders across Sections, and with 1st Gwersyllt to find Scout Leaders.
Suggestions for projects for summer 2012 are invited from all - please contact DC - Sue Lister.
Gordon Richardson has been appointed Area Commissioner requiring him to step down from his District roles. Gordon was a big contributor to District and had numerous roles. He will be missed from District and this is to cause some re-shuffling of roles and activities. We all wish Gordon well in his new Area role.
Explorer update

Due to leaders leaving Bishops Own temporarily closed, Mat Lewis to become Atlas ESL, Mark Jones to support ML with this, Cox Wood to be leaderless following Gordon Richardson's stepping down. K2 going very well, Young Leader group met recently and some YLs are without groups. MJ looking for places for them. Please ask Mark if you need a YL. Bryn y Pys looking for leaders and explorers.
Training update
Successful weekend courses have been delivered and weekday evening courses have started. Several Training Advisers have been very active resulting in more modules validated and a further 17 Wood badges have been awarded. Dates have been set for another training weekend in early October and further dates for Safeguarding in Wrexham are available. Please contact Colleen for info.
Finance update
Total funds in the bank plus loans out to Groups totals £24391. This compares with £24494 a year ago. This is a healthy position as development of HQ and the Shop have continued and occasional grants awarded.
Shop progress
Attendance at Builth wells was highly successful. More stock is being held at the shop to provide better fulfilment for customers. The revamp is complete and it is perceived that there is higher awareness of the Shop and it is more inviting. Please continue to support our District Shop.
HQ maintenance

The small committee room, resource centre, and kitchen have been decorated. Some vinyl flooring has been laid and doors painted. For an old building, all is done to make it as useful and inviting as possible for users. The expensive roof repairs are still being considered and we aim to have work completed before winter.
Cox Wood sub-committee
Following Gordon's stepping down Gerry Lister is appointed as temporary Chair. There is a vacancy for Secretary. Contact Gerry if you can help.
Diamond Jubilee badge

A badge is to be gifted to all members of groups in line with census numbers early in 2012 and paid for out of Shop surpluses.
